DESCRIPTION: Five of the media industry’s top players – one from each sector – offer their insight, and debate the outcome, of how media will be produced, distributed, and consumed in a cross media environment. The goal of the panel is to focus on what is working, or not working, in cross media at present. We will avoid pie-in-the-sky predictions and questionable business models. The panelists will offer strategies on how to incorporate cross media into your business model and give insight into some of the challenges the media industry faces as the silos melt together.

CBC Radio 3 is a Canadian music discovery service with homes on the web, Sirius satellite radio, audio & video podcasting, & mobile but NOT on AM or FM dials anywhere in Canada. His small team has found digital success by focusing on three key ideas: finding & owning a niche, creating new and unique value on a variety of platforms, and giving up control to the audience. Steve will take you through CBC Radio 3′s strategy and how it can be applied to other forms of media.
